The sto= ry was a news article from The Times of India. It told the story of = Syed, a 38 year old computer technician who told the moving story on video = of his forced separation from his son moments before he committed suicide. = Syed had not seen his son Riyan for a year and a half because of his separa= tion from his wife and the anti-father Indian family law. Syed was heart br= oken. As I read the story it was hard not to cry. As a tribute please find = the full story in Single Dads this week. Perhaps I should have saved my tears for the many Australian fathers who co= mmit suicide after having their children stolen from them by the anti-male = system. What about the recent article by the Herald Sun as detailed in News= & Info about the Melbourne father of three who was jailed for 9 days for s= ending his 11 year old daughter a birthday card? The father, Mick, said, "U= ntil my wife divorced me I was a legally unimpeachable citizen. Now I am tr= eated like a criminal just because I want some contact with my kids". The trouble is Mick is not alone. These stories, with minor variations, are= coming from all over Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK, Canada, Europe and o= f course now we are exporting the war against fathers, men and families to = third world countries courtesy of the man hating ideology of militant femin= ism. How did the War on Fathers begin and how on earth can we stop it? Let me en= deavour to explain. The word feminism first = appeared in the English language in the 1880s in England and was used to de= scribe 'women's rights' which was the call for the vote and gender equality= by the Suffragettes. Much of the early suffragette movement was led by women of faith in both th= e USA and the UK. Interestingly the Labour Party worked closely with the Su= ffragette Movement. The Labour Party was started by James Keir Hardie, a devout Christian man who championed the cause of the poor. Mr Hardi= e was the first Labour Member of Parliament anywhere in the world. With the advent of the Bolsheviks the Labour party was virtually taken over= by hard line Marxists. This contagion spread throughout the socialist move= ment around the world. Many of the more moderate Christian socialists and s= uffragettes were forced out of control and the more hardline feminists and = Marxists took over. This also happened in Russia during the 1917 Revolution= . In 1922 Lenin embraced some of the leaders of the so-called Frankfurt Sch= ool. Willi Munzenberg, one of the earliest leaders of the 'school' had a s= olution for Lenin. He proposed, "Organise the intellectuals and use them to= make Western civilisation stink. Only then, after they have corrupted all = its values and made life impossible, can we impose the dictatorship of the = proletariat". The original leaders of the movement fled Russia and went to = Frankfurt, German, after Stalin got a bit aggressive. Nothing unusual mind you as he= killed 20 million of his own people.When Hitler came to power, the Institu= te at Frankfurt University was closed and the main leaders of the Frankfurt= School moved to take up influential positions at major American un= iversities. Their influence spread across western academia.They drew their = inspiration from Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud and Weber. One of the main ideas of the Frankfurt School was to exploit Freud's idea o= f 'pansexualism' - the search for pleasure, the exploitation of the differe= nces between the sexes, the overthrowing of traditional relationships betwe= en men and women. To further their aims they would: =B7 attack the authority of the father, deny the specific roles of father a= nd mother, and wrest away from families their rights as primary educators o= f their children. =B7 abolish differences in the education of boys and girls. =B7 abolish all forms of male dominance - hence the presence of women in th= e armed forces. =B7 declare women to be an 'oppressed class' and men as 'oppressors'. Munzenberg summed up the Frankfurt School's long-term operation thus: 'We w= ill make the West so corrupt that it stinks.' The School believed there were two types of revolution: (a) political and (= b) cultural. Cultural revolution demolishes from within. 'Modern forms of s= ubjection are marked by mildness'. They saw it as a long-term project and k= ept their sights clearly focused on the family, education, media, sex and p= opular culture. It strikes me that the Frankfurt School and its radical feminist friends ha= ve done an extraordinarily good job of destroying fathers and fatherhood ar= ound the world. Their catch-cry that, "All men are bastards" has echoed aro= und the world. I have heard it in Federal Parliament myself. My political b= ackground is from the left so I well know the reality of the above history. How can we bring holistic change for the men, fathers and families of Austr= alia and the world and overcome the hate and injustice that has been direct= ed against men for the last three decades? These are the last few= moments of a depressed father who was kept away from his only son. When J = C Nagar police broke open the door and found Syed Ahmed Makhdoom's body, th= ey were surprised to find a death note in video format. Bangalore Mirror wh= ich carried the report on Friday ( April 10) managed to access this exclusi= ve video footage which was shot by Syed himself just before he committed su= icide. In the video, he states the reasons for ending his precious life. THINK TWICE "I am ending my life today as nobody understood my attachment and feelings = towards my son. Anyone else committing the terrible act of keeping a dad aw= ay from his beloved son should think twice." Syed Ahmed Makhdoom who died last Thursday said that he shot the video a fe= w minutes before he died. It's a 8-minute long video footage shot on his mo= bile. He speaks about his difficulties and the pain faced by him, the haras= sment he underwent thanks to his wife and her parents and finally about his= only son for whose sake he opts to die. He starts by saying, "Today I am going to end my life. I am ending my life = after being betrayed by my separated wife." "Muskhan Sehr (32) (his separated wife) harassed me. They blackmailed me em= otionally. My son Riyan means the world to me. I digested all the harassmen= t meted out to me because I did not want my wife to harass my son. She prev= ented me from meeting my son. I haven't seen my son from the past one and h= alf years. "She and her parents asked me to furnish Rs 10 lakh as early as possible. B= ut at that time, I was not in a position to produce the sum. Since I was at= tached to my son, they prevented me from meeting my son. My wife then made = false allegations against me and filed a complaint in the police station un= der section 498 A. The police without trying to ascertain the truth took me= away to the police station. On that day, I died literally. Ever since then= I was dying day in and day out for two reasons. One, I was kept away from = my son and two, I was harassed by my wife. "I was suffering both mentally and physically. It became routine for me to = beg for my son. But no one understood me. Finally, I fell at her feet and b= egged to see my son. But to no avail. I then approached the courts. But the= y quite simply dragged the case. Everything was mechanical there. "Kumar Jagirdar is the only man who understood my plight and I begged him t= o get me justice. He is the only one who understood my feelings. I wasn't e= ven allowed to see my son on his birthday. I haven't seen my cute daughter = even once. I have tried to be strong for the sake of my son but I cannot co= ntinue leading this meaningless life. I reasoned with my wife that our chil= dren should not become scapegoats but she has no feelings whatsoever. She i= s not fit to be a mother. "So I am ending my earthly journey. PLEASE FORGIVE ME "I beg my mom, dad and all my well wishers to forgive me. I am feeling guil= ty. If possible, look after my kids well. A dying man doesn't lie. Please p= unish my wife and her parents and those responsible for my death. "Anyone who tries to split father and son in future should think about my s= truggle. "I am going away leaving behind my son and daughter. Please respect my deat= h." In these 8 minutes, Syed cries throughout. Kumar Jagirdar, president of CRISP, who ha= ppens to be mentioned by Syed, said " We will fight for justice". Police investigating the incident say Syed Ahmed Makhdoom (38), a techie an= d resident of Bore Bank Road in Benson Town, hanged himself from a ceiling = fan in his secondfloor flat. The incident came to light on Thursday when the landlord got suspicious on = seeing Syed's car parked outside for a few days. Not getting any response f= rom Syed's mobile, he went to the second floor flat and was hit by a foul s= mell emanating from within. The police arrived to find Syed hanging from th= e ceiling fan. The police feel he committed suicide on Sunday. Syed joined a software company in Bangalore in 2000 and later married Muskh= an Sehr, a native of Mysore and an HR manager in the apparel company Jockey= . They had a boy in 2005 and a girl in 2008. Soon after their daughter was = born, the couple parted ways. Their divorce and child custody cases are pending in a city family court. Couples ar= e fighting. Friends who need comfort are ignored. Family members who long t= o connect are being scolded or sent away in tears. If love relationships are all-important to people, why are they so hard to = keep alive and well? The short answer is we are still on a learning curve a= bout the power of love. Religion already knows love is important, and, thankfully, science is final= ly coming to the same conclusion. Brain research is encountering a veritabl= e explosion of evidence that human beings are hard-wired to connect, and th= at love - call it attachment, affection, or "a funny five minutes" as the m= other of author and therapist Sue Johnson once dubbed it - is an essential = and explainable element of human life. Bottom line, as our understanding of love grows, we should become more comp= etent in expressing and maintaining it in our intimate, familial and person= al relationships. This, in turn, should reduce both family breakdown and th= e terrible loneliness that is spreading like a cancer through American soci= ety. My inspirations about love came from a speech Ms. Johnson gave in the Distr= ict recently at the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium, which was attended b= y 3,600 therapists. Ms. Johnson is a clinical psychologist based in Ottawa. She is known for he= r lively English accent, clever stories about love and her co-development o= f a successful approach to couples therapy, called Emotionally Focused Ther= apy (EFT). Ms. Johnson wrote a book last year called "Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversatio= ns for a Lifetime of Love," to help struggling couples pull themselves out = of their relationship hells. Her advice to couples can be summarized like this: First, understand both of you have an inborn and lifelong need to be seen, = touched, recognized and comforted by others. Love is "absolutely primary ... it's a survival code," Ms. Johnson told me = recently. All people long for a "loving responsiveness from other people," = whereas isolation is traumatizing at any age, she said. Second, understand that at the bottom of each argument, each rejection, eac= h nasty comment is a frustrated desire to connect or reconnect. When couples feel distant from each other, it's like "emotional starvation,= " Ms. Johnson said. If people sense they are losing the source of their emo= tional sustenance, panic sets in and they desperately try to regain it. Unfortunately, she said, men and women often turn to counterproductive ways= to re-establish connection - clinging, stonewalling, attacking, defending,= nagging, hiding. The result is even more distance and disconnection, she w= rote. EFT, however, introduces couples to "effective dependency" and shows them t= hat as they learn to hear their mutual pleas for closeness, safety and affi= rmation, their love relationships will heal, deepen and thrive. Even the jo= y of sex can return. EFT has a better-than-70 percent recovery rate in less than 12 sessions wit= h couples, according to research. The importance of learning how to nurture love cannot be overestimated, "be= cause our societies are getting lonelier and lonelier," she said. Sadly though my observation is that our society is moving away from Roseto,= we are becoming more self centred and less family and friend orientated. The proof is in our deteriorating physical mental and spiritual health. Shortly after reading the Roseto effect I went into Medicare to claim on a = bill. The place was packed with a collection of the most miserable people, = not a smile in the place. I asked the staff member how they cope with such = a depressing workplace. She simply said it was to be expected as most peopl= e coming here are sick. I had a question regarding Medicare and our son Mark. Her answer confirmed = that she was completely caught up in the negative culture. Yet we are built as social beings and our physical and mental health depend= s upon it. We are unable to draw nourishment from ourselves, to live withou= t God and friends in a sharing capacity, is like trying to grow plants with= out food and water. Similar to ourselves, plants are not able to nourish th= emselves. We are all now fully aware that an early sign of marriage trouble is when t= he family home ceases to be a meeting place for friends and family. And its of no use thinking that we have wonderful friends and family withou= t implementing sincere social interaction. Don't leave the fertiliser sitti= ng in the shed, the plants get no benefit, just as our friends get no benef= it when we leave our friendship sitting in the shed. For some time now we have devoted Sunday afternoon to a social gathering of= either friends and or family. At times we get a bit slack and need to make= the effort. The effort is well and truly rewarded in the wonderful times w= e have sharing a range of things with others. Basically we are sharing our = family. The wonderful problem we have is to allocate the time for all the people wh= o wish to share this with us. We let this become a bit of an excuse to peop= le. With so many issues going on around us the common excuse these days is "we = haven't got time". There is no such thing, every living person is blessed w= ith 24 hours every day, no more, no less, it a simple matter of choice. I have tried to teach Comfort this principal. Every morning we go for a wal= k together at 6am. We count our blessings as we pass house after house of p= eople who haven't started the day yet. We share our enthusiasm for the new = day with the occasional other walkers or joggers who are also celebrating t= he day. It is easy to let things drift along, making changes to our outlook is unco= mfortable; if you think the worst you can not be disappointed. Not for me, = I want to make the effort, I expect the best, if I fall short it is still a= far better result than expecting nothing. Expect nothing and get nothing. The man "Mick" - who cannot be identified for legal reasons - was locked up= in a suburban police station for seven nights and spent another in the tou= gh Melbourne Custody Centre. He says he was surrounded by drug addicts and people charged with violent o= ffences during his ordeal last month. Mick claims he is a victim of a family law system that is biased against fa= thers. "I was jailed for nine days and eight nights for sending my 11-year-old dau= ghter a birthday card," he said. "Apparently I broke an intervention order. "It's ludicrous and it breaks your heart." The 51-year-old is estranged from his wife and claims she has brought a ser= ies of intervention orders against him, banning him from contact with his c= hildren, without any evidence. "Until my wife divorced me I was a legally unimpeachable citizen - now I'm = being treated like a criminal just because I want some contact with my kids= ," Mick said yesterday. "And that contact was ended arbitrarily without even a hearing or the prese= ntation of evidence. "In a court of law, if you are accused of something you are supposed to hav= e the ability to cross examine your accusers and call witnesses. "In the secret chambers of the Family Court you are not guaranteed that at = all." Mick says the experience has cost him $20,000 and his career as a writer. "It's a plundering and looting exercise on the part of lawyers involved in = this and there are no juries or scrutiny by media to keep them accountable,= " he said. The Sunday Herald Sun was denied access to documents relating to Mick's cas= e and lawyers for his estranged wife declined to be interviewed. Historian and academic Prof John Hirst this week called for an overhaul of = family law. Recently I received a story from Uma Challa a leader in the Men's Movement in India. The story was= a news article from The Times of India. It told the story of Syed, a 38 year o= ld computer technician who told the moving story on video of his forced sep= aration from his son moments before he committed suicide. Syed had not seen= his son Riyan for a year and a half because of his separation from his wif= e and the anti-father Indian family law. Syed was heart broken. As I read t= he story it was hard not to cry. As a tribute please find the full story in= Single Dads this week.
 
Perhap= s I should have saved my tears for the many Australian fathers who commit s= uicide after having their children stolen from them by the anti-male system= . What about the recent article by the Herald Sun as detailed in News & Info about the Melbourne father of three who was jai= led for 9 days for sending his 11 year old daughter a birthday card? The fa= ther, Mick, said, "Until my wife divorced me I was a legally unimpeachable = citizen. Now I am treated like a criminal just because I want some contact = with my kids".
 
The trouble is Mick is not alone. These st= ories, with minor variations, are coming from all over Australia, New Zeala= nd, USA, UK, Canada, Europe and of course now we are exporting the war agai= nst fathers, men and families to third world countries courtesy of the man = hating ideology of militant feminism.
 
How did the War on F= athers begin and how on earth can we stop it? Let me endeavour to explain.<= br /> 
The word feminism= first appeared in the English language in the 1880s in England and was use= d to describe 'women's rights' which was the call for the vote and gender e= quality by the Suffragettes.
&= nbsp;
Much of the early suffragette movement was led by women of faith= in both the USA and the UK. Interestingly the Labour Party worked closely = with the Suffragette Movement. The Labour Party was started by James Keir Hardie, a devout Christian man who championed the cause of the poor. Mr Hardie = was the first Labour Member of Parliament anywhere in the world.

With the advent of the Bolsheviks the Labour party was virtually tak= en over by hard line Marxists. This contagion spread throughout the sociali= st movement around the world. Many of the more moderate Christian socialist= s and suffragettes were forced out of control and the more hardline feminis= ts and Marxists took over. This also happened in Russia during the 1917 Rev= olution. In 1922 Lenin embraced some of the leaders of the so-called Frankf= urt School.  Willi Munzenberg, one of the earliest leaders of the 'sch= ool' had a solution for Lenin. He proposed, "Organise the intellectuals and= use them to make Western civilisation stink. Only then, after they have co= rrupted all its values and made life impossible, can we impose the dictator= ship of the proletariat". The original leaders of the movement fled Russia = and went to Frankfurt, German, after Stalin got a bit aggressive. Nothing unusual mind you as he= killed 20 million of his own people.When Hitler came to power, the Institu= te at Frankfurt University was closed and the main leaders of the Frankfurt Schoo= l moved to take up influential positions at major American universities= . Their influence spread across western academia.They drew their inspiratio= n from Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud and Weber.
 
One of= the main ideas of the Frankfurt School was to exploit Freud's idea of 'pan= sexualism' - the search for pleasure, the exploitation of the differences b= etween the sexes, the overthrowing of traditional relationships between men= and women. To further their aims they would:

=B7 attac= k the authority of the father, deny the specific roles of father and mother= , and wrest away from families their rights as primary educators of their c= hildren.
=B7 abolish differences in the education of boys and girls.<= br />=B7 abolish all forms of male dominance - hence the presence of women = in the armed forces.
=B7 declare women to be an 'oppressed class' and= men as 'oppressors'.
Munzenberg summed up the Frankfurt School's long= -term operation thus: 'We will make the West so corrupt that it stinks.'
The School believed there were two types of revolution: (= a) political and (b) cultural. Cultural revolution demolishes from within. = 'Modern forms of subjection are marked by mildness'. They saw it as a long-= term project and kept their sights clearly focused on the family, education= , media, sex and popular culture.
 
It strikes me that = the Frankfurt School and its radical feminist friends have done an extraord= inarily good job of destroying fathers and fatherhood around the world. The= ir catch-cry that, "All men are bastards" has echoed around the world. I ha= ve heard it in Federal Parliament myself. My political background is from t= he left so I well know the reality of the above history.
 
H= ow can we bring holistic change for the men, fathers and families of Austra= lia and the world and overcome the hate and injustice that has been directe= d against men for the last three decades?

Recognise our enemy. Our enemy is never people but corrupt ideologies = that produce a harvest of hate, death and injustice.
 
Love those who hate you and who call themselves your enemy. Martin Lut= her King said, "Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.
 
Become real men and make a stand for the truth.
 
Accentuate the positive as this newsletter always endeavours to do.

This is not a video of a hostage kidnapped by ter= rorists pleading for help. It is a video of a dying father pining for his s= on. These are the last few moments of a depressed father who was kept away = from his only son. When J C Nagar police broke open the door and found Syed= Ahmed Makhdoom's body, they were surprised to find a death note in video f= ormat. Bangalore Mirror which carried the report on Friday ( April 10) mana= ged to access this exclusive video footage which was shot by Syed himself j= ust before he committed suicide. In the video, he states the reasons for en= ding his precious life.=20
 
THINK TWICE

"I am ending my life today as nobody understood my attachment an= d feelings towards my son. Anyone else committing the terrible act of keepi= ng a dad away from his beloved son should think twice."

Syed Ahmed Makhdoom who died last Thursday said that he shot the= video a few minutes before he died. It's a 8-minute long video footage sho= t on his mobile. He speaks about his difficulties and the pain faced by him= , the harassment he underwent thanks to his wife and her parents and finall= y about his only son for whose sake he opts to die.

He starts by saying, "Today I am going to end my life. I am endi= ng my life after being betrayed by my separated wife."

"Muskhan Sehr (32) (his separated wife) harassed me. They blackm= ailed me emotionally. My son Riyan means the world to me. I digested all th= e harassment meted out to me because I did not want my wife to harass my so= n. She prevented me from meeting my son. I haven't seen my son from the pas= t one and half years.

"She and her parents asked me to furnish Rs 10 lakh as early as = possible. But at that time, I was not in a position to produce the sum. Sin= ce I was attached to my son, they prevented me from meeting my son. My wife= then made false allegations against me and filed a complaint in the police= station under section 498 A. The police without trying to ascertain the tr= uth took me away to the police station. On that day, I died literally. Ever= since then I was dying day in and day out for two reasons. One, I was kept= away from my son and two, I was harassed by my wife.

"I was suffering both mentally and physically. It became routine= for me to beg for my son. But no one understood me. Finally, I fell at her= feet and begged to see my son. But to no avail. I then approached the cour= ts. But they quite simply dragged the case. Everything was mechanical there= .

"Kumar Jagirdar is the only man who understood my plight and I b= egged him to get me justice. He is the only one who understood my feelings.= I wasn't even allowed to see my son on his birthday. I haven't seen my cut= e daughter even once. I have tried to be strong for the sake of my son but = I cannot continue leading this meaningless life. I reasoned with my wife th= at our children should not become scapegoats but she has no feelings whatso= ever. She is not fit to be a mother.

"So I am ending my earthly journey.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME

"I beg my mom, dad and all my well wishers to forgive me. I am f= eeling guilty. If possible, look after my kids well. A dying man doesn't li= e. Please punish my wife and her parents and those responsible for my death= .

"Anyone who tries to split father and son in future should think= about my struggle.

"I am going away leaving behind my son and daughter. Please resp= ect my death."

In these 8 minutes, Syed cries throughout.

Kumar Jagirdar, president of CRISP, who ha= ppens to be mentioned by Syed, said " We will fight for justice".

Police investigating the incident say Syed Ahmed Makhdoom (38), = a techie and resident of Bore Bank Road in Benson Town, hanged himself from= a ceiling fan in his secondfloor flat.

The incident came to light on Thursday when the landlord got sus= picious on seeing Syed's car parked outside for a few days. Not getting any= response from Syed's mobile, he went to the second floor flat and was hit = by a foul smell emanating from within. The police arrived to find Syed hang= ing from the ceiling fan. The police feel he committed suicide on Sunday.

Syed joined a software company in Bangalore in 2000 and later ma= rried Muskhan Sehr, a native of Mysore and an HR manager in the apparel com= pany Jockey. They had a boy in 2005 and a girl in 2008. Soon after their da= ughter was born, the couple parted ways.

Their divorce and child custody cases are pending in a city fami= ly court.

In too many places people who love each other are not rejoicing.= Couples are fighting. Friends who need comfort are ignored. Family members= who long to connect are being scolded or sent away in tears.
If love= relationships are all-important to people, why are they so hard to keep al= ive and well? The short answer is we are still on a learning curve about th= e power of love.
Religion already knows love is important, and, thank= fully, science is finally coming to the same conclusion. Brain research is = encountering a veritable explosion of evidence that human beings are hard-w= ired to connect, and that love - call it attachment, affection, or "a funny= five minutes" as the mother of author and therapist Sue Johnson once dubbe= d it - is an essential and explainable element of human life.
Bottom = line, as our understanding of love grows, we should become more competent i= n expressing and maintaining it in our intimate, familial and personal rela= tionships. This, in turn, should reduce both family breakdown and the terri= ble loneliness that is spreading like a cancer through American society. My inspirations about love came from a speech Ms. Johnson gave in the D= istrict recently at the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium, which was attend= ed by 3,600 therapists.
Ms. Johnson is a clinical psychologist based = in Ottawa. She is known for her lively English accent, clever stories about= love and her co-development of a successful approach to couples therapy, c= alled Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Ms. Johnson wrote a book las= t year called "Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love," = to help struggling couples pull themselves out of their relationship hells.=
Her advice to couples can be summarized like this:
First, unde= rstand both of you have an inborn and lifelong need to be seen, touched, re= cognized and comforted by others.
Love is "absolutely primary ... it'= s a survival code," Ms. Johnson told me recently. All people long for a "lo= ving responsiveness from other people," whereas isolation is traumatizing a= t any age, she said.
Second, understand that at the bottom of each ar= gument, each rejection, each nasty comment is a frustrated desire to connec= t or reconnect.
When couples feel distant from each other, it's like = "emotional starvation," Ms. Johnson said. If people sense they are losing t= he source of their emotional sustenance, panic sets in and they desperately= try to regain it.
Unfortunately, she said, men and women often turn = to counterproductive ways to re-establish connection - clinging, stonewalli= ng, attacking, defending, nagging, hiding. The result is even more distance= and disconnection, she wrote.
EFT, however, introduces couples to "e= ffective dependency" and shows them that as they learn to hear their mutual= pleas for closeness, safety and affirmation, their love relationships will= heal, deepen and thrive. Even the joy of sex can return.
EFT has a b= etter-than-70 percent recovery rate in less than 12 sessions with couples, = according to research.
The importance of learning how to nurture love= cannot be overestimated, "because our societies are getting lonelier and l= onelier," she said.
The Dalai Lama said it well, Ms. Johnson added, q= uoting the Tibetan Buddhist leader: "Love and compassion are necessities, n= ot luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive."

An Extra Hour of Fun & Living3D"Family

We don't live in Roseto b= ut we can all create our little Roseto space, it is simply up to us as indi= viduals, we make the choice.
 
Sadly though my observation i= s that our society is moving away from Roseto, we are becoming more self ce= ntred and less family and friend orientated.
 
The proof is = in our deteriorating physical mental and spiritual health.
 
Shortly after reading the Roseto effect I went into Medicare to claim on a= bill. The place was packed with a collection of the most miserable people,= not a smile in the place. I asked the staff member how they cope with such= a depressing workplace. She simply said it was to be expected as most peop= le coming here are sick.
 
I had a question regarding Medica= re and our son Mark. Her answer confirmed that she was completely caught up= in the negative culture.
 
Yet we are built as social bein= gs and our physical and mental health depends upon it. We are unable to dra= w nourishment from ourselves, to live without God and friends in a sharing = capacity, is like trying to grow plants without food and water. Similar to = ourselves, plants are not able to nourish themselves.
 
We a= re all now fully aware that an early sign of marriage trouble is when the f= amily home ceases to be a meeting place for friends and family.
 =
And its of no use thinking that we have wonderful friends and family = without implementing sincere social interaction. Don't leave the fertiliser= sitting in the shed, the plants get no benefit, just as our friends get no= benefit when we leave our friendship sitting in the shed.
 
For some time now we have devoted Sunday afternoon to a social gathering o= f either friends and or family. At times we get a bit slack and need to mak= e the effort. The effort is well and truly rewarded in the wonderful times = we have sharing a range of things with others. Basically we are sharing our= family.
 
The wonderful problem we have is to allocate the = time for all the people who wish to share this with us. We let this become = a bit of an excuse to people.
 
With so many issues going on= around us the common excuse these days is "we haven't got time". There is = no such thing, every living person is blessed with 24 hours every day, no m= ore, no less, it a simple matter of choice.
 
I have tried t= o teach Comfort this principal. Every morning we go for a walk together at = 6am. We count our blessings as we pass house after house of people who have= n't started the day yet. We share our enthusiasm for the new day with the o= ccasional other walkers or joggers who are also celebrating the day.
&= nbsp;
It is easy to let things drift along, making changes to our outl= ook is uncomfortable; if you think the worst you can not be disappointed. N= ot for me, I want to make the effort, I expect the best, if I fall short it= is still a far better result than expecting nothing. Expect nothing and ge= t nothing.
 
When daylight savings ceased a couple of Sunday= s ago we were so excited that we were given an extra hour of fun and living= on that day.

Father jailed for sending birthday card to d= aughter

A Melbourne father of three has been jailed fo= r sending a birthday card to his daughter.
 
The man "Mick" = - who cannot be identified for legal reasons - was locked up in a suburban = police station for seven nights and spent another in the tough Melbourne Cu= stody Centre.
 
He says he was surrounded by drug addicts an= d people charged with violent offences during his ordeal last month.
&= nbsp;
Mick claims he is a victim of a family law system that is biased= against fathers.
 
"I was jailed for nine days and eight ni= ghts for sending my 11-year-old daughter a birthday card," he said.
&n= bsp;
"Apparently I broke an intervention order.
 
"It's= ludicrous and it breaks your heart."
 
The 51-year-old is e= stranged from his wife and claims she has brought a series of intervention = orders against him, banning him from contact with his children, without any= evidence.
 
"Until my wife divorced me I was a legally unim= peachable citizen - now I'm being treated like a criminal just because I wa= nt some contact with my kids," Mick said yesterday.
 
"And t= hat contact was ended arbitrarily without even a hearing or the presentatio= n of evidence.
 
"In a court of law, if you are accused of s= omething you are supposed to have the ability to cross examine your accuser= s and call witnesses.
 
"In the secret chambers of the Famil= y Court you are not guaranteed that at all."
 
Mick says the= experience has cost him $20,000 and his career as a writer.
 "It's a plundering and looting exercise on the part of lawyers involved = in this and there are no juries or scrutiny by media to keep them accountab= le," he said.
 
The Sunday Herald Sun was denied access to d= ocuments relating to Mick's case and lawyers for his estranged wife decline= d to be interviewed.
 
Historian and academic Prof John Hirs= t this week called for an overhaul of family law.
 
"The cou= rt is not enforcing its decisions, the costs of going to court are onerous = and there is little public accountability," he said.
